Mutual funds add over Rs.4 lakh crore to asset base this year
Mutual funds have added a staggering over ?4 lakh crore to their asset base in 2019 and the industry expects the growth trajectory to continue in the new year on the back of strong inflows in debt schemes and measures taken by regulator Sebi for boosting investors' confidence.
SEBI issues circular for MF investment by minors, transmission of MFs on death
On 24th December, the Securities and Exchange Board of India issued a circular for investment by minors (individuals below the age of 18). In it, the regulator clarified that such investments can only be made from the minor’s bank account or a joint account of the minor and the guardian.
SEBI introduces stewardship code for all mutual funds, AIFs
Markets regulator SEBI on Tuesday put in place a mandatory "stewardship code" for mutual funds and all categories of alternative investment funds (AIFs) with regard to their investment in listed equities.
Sebi provides relaxation on group exposure limit for mutual funds
Debt-oriented mutual fund schemes that have more than 10% exposure to their sponsors' group companies before October 1 have been allowed to continue with such investments till respective maturity dates.
